Neighborhood Walk

Make it stand out

Welcome to out first Neighborhood Walk which will be a Color experience! Participants are invited to choose a color that brings them joy, calm, hope, or comfort. During the walk, look for that color in the neighborhood, take photos, and share what you notice.

This simple activity encourages mindfulness by helping participants slow down, pay attention to their surroundings, and stay present. Color walks are often used as a grounding practice because they give the mind one gentle thing to focus on while walking. Research on mindful walking and nature-based walking also connects these practices with improved mood, attention, and stress reduction.

Walk For Resilience 5K Run/Walk

The Walk for Resilience 5K Run/Walk is a community-centered mental health event hosted by Carmel’s Depression & Anxiety Wellness Foundation (CDAWF). This inclusive 5K brings together walkers, runners, families, and supporters to raise awareness for depression and anxiety while promoting movement, connection, and healing.

Designed for all fitness levels, participants may walk, jog, or run at their own pace. The event focuses on togetherness rather than competition, creating a supportive environment where mental health conversations are normalized and encouraged.

Proceeds from the Walk for Resilience support CDAWF’s ongoing mental health education, wellness programming, and community outreach initiatives. Funds raised help provide resources, coping tools, and access to support for individuals and families affected by depression and anxiety.

This event welcomes individuals, teams, youth, seniors, and first-time 5K participants. Whether you are honoring your own journey, supporting a loved one, or standing in solidarity for mental health awareness, your participation makes a meaningful impact.
